Summer holiday recap

This August (and early September) we took a long holiday. Two weeks in the Faroe Islands! We went there from Munich by car and ferry. Two days to reach the northern most tip of Denmark (Hirtshals) and then 1½ days by ferry to the Faroes. During that time I painted quite a bit.

It was quite the amazing holiday and on top of that it was so nice to have to much time to paint!

The tools

I took the following things with me

An A8 sketchbook I made myself from Khadi 150gsm cotton paper. One spread (i.e. A7) per day on the trip.

This 5x5cm sketchbook

A tiny watercolour palette with 8 paints, two water brushes, a Pentel Sign Pen, and a Pentel Milky Brush. I then bought a 3mm chisel tip Uni pin during the holidays.

Daily drawing

I painted one painting to represent each day in my dedicated sketchbook. It was a lot of fun and looking back it also seems like I improved quite a bit!

The tiny sketchbook

In between when I had time I also did some sketches in the tiny sketchbook. Actually, more than I remembered!
